Sarah & Josh

From the first moment I met Sarah, I knew that we were going to have a blast planning her May 16, 2009 wedding!! Sarah is such a ball of energy and full of spunk… and that's exactly what Sarah and Josh's wedding was- laidback, fun, energetic and romantic all at the same time!
Sarah and Josh made their lives one during a romantic late-afternoon outdoor ceremony at Hartefeld National. The minister, Rev. Klett, incorporated many touching moments into their ceremony, including a wine blessing- which was very unique and the guests loved it! The Shrewsbury String Quartet provided the lovely ceremony music which added a wonderful backdrop to the already serene setting.
Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a beautiful cocktail hour on the outdoor veranda… full of candlelit lanterns and lush, colorful floral arrangements (while I joined the bridal party who was taking pictures on the golf course and by the serene lake- after having some fun on the golf carts!!). Place cards were displayed by a bed of tall luscious green, pink and ivory flowers, along with sparklers and matches for each guest to use during the couple's first dance as husband and wife! Sarah and Josh really paid attention to all the small details that add up and impressed their guests with the unique aspects of their wedding day….

One of the most unique elements that Sarah and Josh decided to showcase in their summery affair, was what we like a call a "fauxtobooth." Sarah always wanted a photobooth for her guests to enjoy while in the cocktail hour and reception- take some funny pictures, and relax… but the price of renting one was out of their budget. Luckily, I happen to have a fabulous photographer brother who is super talented (his photographs have usually consisted of scenery and landmarks, and he was published in a photo book of images from 9/11!!) Between Remember This Day, Chris, and the happy couple- we were able to custom design the fauxtobooth of their dreams! Sarah and I went to the local fabric store, and she chose a gorgeous fabric that incorporated her wedding colors… then I took it home and sewed the custom drapery that hung from the fauxtobooth! It was a HUGE hit with the guests (who also loved Sarah and Josh's funny hat props!)

Mint green and pink linens and centerpieces accented the ballroom, and the lime-filled centerpieces created by Judy from Creations for Celebration adorned each table. The delicious cake was custom made by none other than Liz Marden.  Sarah custom-made her table numbers, which were numbers that represented a significant numeral in the couple's relationship. The guests really enjoyed learning more about Sarah and Josh while at their seats….
A Candid Image provided these amazing pictures, and made sure that their wedding was captured in gorgeous pictures that will last the couple a lifetime! Reel to Real Video made sure to tape every last moment of the newlywed's ceremony and reception (and trust me, this is a video that they will watch over and over again- especially the Garter placement by a groomsmen on the bouquet catcher…. It was pretty hot and heavy and all the guests were fanning themselves afterwards! haha)
Steve from D&J DJ Entertainment spinned tunes all night long and the guests danced the night away….
With our recommendation, Sarah and Josh chose custom mini-champagne bottle favors from the fabulous Four Seasons Liquors in Newark, DE.  The guests LOVED them!
Once again, we were blessed to work with some amazing vendors- which made this wedding an event bigger success!! HUGE thanks to my newest assistant/intern, Meg…. she really stepped up and made her first event with Remember This Day a great one!
Best wishes and a ton of happiness to the newlyweds!! Have a blast on your honeymoon- I'm jealous!!
