Annie & Erik: Shabby Chic Beach Wedding Overlooking San Diego's Sunset Cliffs!!

Excited doesn't even begin to explain my feelings in featuring this wedding on our blog!!  We met Annie and Erik while coordinating another destination wedding on Lake Michigan last summer... and after seeing us in action, they decided to hire us for their San Diego wedding on a Private Estate overlooking the fabulous Sunset Cliffs!!!

The gorgeous setting was ambiance enough, but we assisted the couple in adding touches of their personalities and tastes into the decor with custom stationery for their unique guest book (a coffee table book with photography of California beaches), "Reserved" table tents for family members, Signs for the freshly-squeezed Lemonade for their guests to enjoy while enjoying the view and waiting for the ceremony to begin!!  Their custom package also included research and event design/implementation- which resulted in burlap signs for their bar, custom sand-unity bottles and basket, custom cake-cutting set, a starfish "circle" for the couple to join in their vows... and much more!  The details really made this wedding unique and cohesive!

We were in San Diego for Annie & Erik's "Wedding Weekend" and also coordinated their Rehearsal, which happened to have been on the ONE day of the year that there was a torrential downpour/storm in San Diego- go figure!!  But this couple was so laid-back and accepted any changes that needed to be made with smiles on their face!  We always tell our clients that while we plan for beautiful weather, it's the one thing that is completely out of our control.... luckily, the rain stopped and the Sun even came out during their Ceremony the following day!!

Onto the details....

Annie & Erik wanted their intimate wedding to be eco-friendly and shabby-chic beach vintage... their flowers were fresh and colorful with peacock feather accents, and their centerpieces were baskets of assorted succulents (which complemented the wildflowers and succulents in the field they walked through as their "aisle."  Kenner and Sons Florist did a wonderful job executing Annie's vision of her floral decor!

As the guests arrived, poured their freshly-squeezed Lemonade and found their seats overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Acoustic Guitarist Mark Fisher of The Fish and the Seaweeds provided music to set the relaxed mood.  Their beautiful ceremony was presided over by Rev. Josh Kerkhoff from Solana Beach Presbyterian Church (who was one of the best ministers that I have worked with!)

Following the ceremony, the guests were ushered across the street to the Estate's front porch to  watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean during cocktail hour, and then they proceeded to the back yard where we had custom tent rentals and club-lounge furniture overlooking the backlit pool!  Annie & Erik provided their guests with a wide variety of delicious and sustainable food options (such as hand-rolled sushi station, custom taco station, asian noodles, and much more) provided by Terra Catering.

The couple put together a custom iPod playlist to be played on the Estate's speaker system... they just needed an Emcee to "man" the station and make formal announcements- which is yet one more "hat" that Remember This Day can say we have "worn"!!!!

And to top off the amazing list of vendors that we were lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with- Jaworski Photography captured everything on camera and photographed some of the most amazing and beautiful images I have EVER seen- hence the major abundance of pictures below!!!!  (Check out those Sunset shots!!!!  Amazeballs!)

We had so much fun helping Annie & Erik plan and coordinate their San Diego wedding- and we plan on coordinating even more "destination" weddings in the future!

And some pictures we took on our own:

Congratulations once again... to one of our FAVE newlywed couples!!  We wish you all the happiness in the world....

And remember.... Remember This Day is available to travel to YOUR destination or out-of-town location, as well!

Please note that the below pictures are not the professional ones- these were taken by my assistant....

Annie & Erik had Remember This Day there for their entire wedding weekend and we coordinated their Rehearsal as well as oversaw the reception setup (tent rentals, etc) and ceremony setup (on Luscombs Point!!!)

So... enjoy!!!  Stay tuned for the "official" blog feature in the coming weeks!!

Denai & Brad- Chic and Modern Winter Wonderland

Denai and Brad contacted us when they first got engaged quite a few years ago.  We met with them and discussed their planning/coordination needs, and then some time went by that they got caught up in the craziness of planning before we heard from them again!  A few months before they were due to walk down the aisle, Denai contacted us and hired us for day-of coordination!  I know it was a weight off her shoulders to know that all of their hard work and labor-intensive details would be executed to perfection, without any worry on their big day!  They had spent many months and years making sure that their personalities and tastes were showcased throughout their wedding, and wanted to ensure that a professional was there on their side to implement it all.  And that we did!!

The ceremony took place on a gorgeous January day (seriously, you couldn't dream of nicer weather during a typically frigid/weather-conscious month!) at the beautiful St. Anthony's Church in Wilmington, Delaware.

The amazing floral arrangements and bouquets were created and designed by In Full Bloom Flowers (based in NJ).  The bridal party arrived promptly (and in style!) courtesy of Bella Limousine... all the while looking fantabulous- thanks to Posh Salon!!

The reception followed at the exquisite Merion in Cinnaminson, NJ.  I can not rave enough about this place!!  Not only is it beautiful, and the food delicious (and the abundance of options- enough to feed a small country!!)... the level of service is above and beyond- they were a true pleasure to work with.

The Ballroom was a Winter Wonderland and was dimly-lit and draped in all-white linens and chair covers... the centerpieces were filled with all-white flowers and blue water in each tall vase.  Wait- there's more... to truly capture this Winter Elegance- In Full Bloom also added real snow around each centerpiece, with light blue LED lights hidden underneath.  The table numbers were unique in that they were glass luminaries with LED lights inside and the couple's monogram etched into the glass.  It was truly an extravagant sight!  Dynamic Crew provided uplighting and pin-lighting in a light blue color... as well as Denai and Brad's signature Gobo light!  Dynamic Crew also kept the dance floor packed throughout the night!

Denai got the guest favors at one of our favorite (and most often referred vendors) for mini-champagne bottles which guests took on their way out...

We had the wonderful opportunity to work with Kenneth Stillman Video once again (can't wait to see their video!), and the true pleasure of working with (for the first time, and hopefully many more to come!) Gabelli Studio, who took these spectacular images!

We truly enjoyed sharing in your special day and making sure that everything was perfect... we hope you both had a fabulous time on your honeymoon in Moorea and Bora-Bora (jealous)!!

She's Got Legs... and she knows how to use them!

One of the most fun ways to express yourself and your personality on your wedding day is the garter belt!  Whether you opt for the traditional "garter belt removal/toss" or to keep that private between you and your soon-to-be hubby, it's a great way to incorporate your personal style in a unique way.

Of course, there's the traditional white garter belt- which never fails to please... but if you're interested in being a bit more daring, we've compiled a few interesting options below:

Your "Something Blue":

If you prefer something a bit more unexpected yet still classic, you may opt for a Vintage French Ombre Rose garter set...

If you are into solid colors with a bit of flair, a simple gray satin garter with birdcage embellishments are sure to WOW others:

If you're anything like us, you may be slightly obsessed with anything peacock!!  The vibrant colors and whimsical feathers are perfect to adorn your reception... or your leg!!

You can even commemorate your favorite sports team or Alma Mater with a custom sports garter!!

You can even choose go to "fun and flirty" with something unexpected:

If you're a bit more traditional, fear not... you can still step out of the box and keep it different with this gorgeous floral garter:

And if you're into beautiful rosettes- here's a perfect option:

Finally, quite possibly our favorite from this post.... a romantic and vintage lace garter set with some added bling:

...and don't forget- if you plan on "tossing" your garter, be sure to purchase a set that includes a "toss away" garter (and keep the fancier one on for later that night!)
