Jeny & Joe: Rustic Vintage Wedding on Lake Michigan!

I have been looking forward to blogging about this wedding for over TWO years (since Jeny and Joe got engaged!)  As many of you will recognize, Jeny is one of our coordination assistants here at Remember This Day, and has been with us since the beginning!!  So when Joe popped the question, Jeny and I got to work on the planning!!  We've been with her from the start and helped with the event design (read: antique shopping!), cohesive details, day of coordination and direction.  I just love my full-service brides... seeing a wedding take form from the very beginning and then implementing everything and witness it all come together is the best part of being a planner!

This wedding is the epitome of Jeny's personality (and mine too, actually!)  Lots of pearls, vintage and antique elements, lace, eclectic designs and just a fun and laid-back day!

Jeny grew up in Michigan and has family in nearby Indiana, so when choosing a venue for her upcoming nuptials, it was a fairly easy decision to have an outdoor reception on her family's property in on Lake Michigan after the Mass at Holy Trinity Church in South Bend, Indiana.  Jeny's great-grandfather helped to BUILD this Church after immigrating from Hungary!  So much history!

MANY thanks to the fabulous Amanda Mae Photography (located in Grand Rapids, Michigan) for capturing all these fun images!  Also to Classic Catering for the delicious food and tent rental... and we can't forget Hair Crafters Salon for getting these already gorgeous girls all dolled up for the big day!

And YES we traveled to Michigan and Indiana for this wedding!  Not that we could ever miss one of our OWN walk down the aisle, but destination wedding and travel are awesome!  We are really excited for coordinating an April wedding in San Diego, too!!

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Metallic Trends: Take Two :-)

Below is the second installment of our editorial shoot that was featured on OneWed's Blog!!  I love how we styled this shoot to show that even the little details make an impact on your event decor... whether it's the lonely bookcase in the corner of the room, or the foyer table in the entryway.... put your personal style into your decor.

Pops of color can really transform the room, and keep in mind the venue that you are holding your event!  Work with what you already have and incorporate elements that will even further your vision without spending a fortune!  Most of the statement pieces and accessories in this feature were found at local antique shops and/or consignment shops!  Mismatched china for less than a dollar?  Don't mind if we do!  It gives your place settings some character as long as they still complement eachother!

Yesterday we featured four inspiring wedding reception tabletops that incorporate on-trend metallics. And today... we've got four more unique styles to make your heart skip a beat!

Tabletop items: Lenox Venetian Lace china, vintage assortment of stacked books, vintage desktop globe, antique gold vase, copper hammered vase, DIY wedding invitations by Remember This Day Events, wine cork holders.

Tabletop items: Vintage cream china, vintage medicine glass, vintage gold rimmed rose container, SAS cupcakes.

Wedding flowers: Bookshelves with golden yellow gerber daisies.

8- Divine Cupcake Display If you've decided on cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake, have fun displaying the tasty treats for your wedding guests! Using assorted china gives a welcoming look to the entire table!

Tabletop items: Assortment of china and vintage tea sets, SAS cupcakes, wooden owl, 'HOME' sign designed by Katie Leigh Designs.

Wedding decor inspiration shoot by Kate's Lens Photography

We predicted that metallics would be hot for 2011 weddings. Not to pat ourselves on the backs or anything, but... we were spot on with this particular wedding trends prediction! Metallics can be incorporated in a variety of ways, from your wedding dress and accessories to your invitations to your chic wedding reception centerpieces.

Mary Kate of Kate's Lens Photography shared this incredible wedding table trends editorial shoot focusing on using metallics to give spark to your wedding reception decor. So I hope you're ready, because we're about to shift this metallic wedding trend into overdrive!

Today we feature four drool-worthy metallic tablescapes and styles, and tomorrow, we'll feature four more inspiring setups to really get your creative juices flowing!

1- Gold & Bright Don’t be afraid to pair gold accents with a bright pop of color. The vivid purple and green wedding color palette update the vintage place setting with modern flair!
Wedding flowers: Bright green viburnums with purple dendrobium orchids.
Tabletop items: Vintage gold-rimmed china with rose embellishments and gold utensils, vintage vase with gold accents, vintage antique tin, gold-rimmed Mikasa wine glasses.
Table linens: Orchestra linen with coordinating gold napkins.

2- Single Statement Piece Incorporate interesting items from thrift shops and antique stores. A single statement piece, like a vintage coffee carafe, not only adds to the décor, but is also a great conversation piece for the wedding guests!
Wedding flowers: Red roses and tulips, burgundy mini-callas, deep purple stock and seeded eucalyptus.
Tabletop items: Silver candlesticks, Lenox Venetian Lace china, antique coffee carafe, silver/blue vase and silver striped vase, tea holder.
Table linens: Godiva lace overlay on top of French Blue Linen with French Blue coordinating napkins.

3- Modern Blue & Silver Blue, lilac, and silver color combinations keep it tasteful, modern, and fresh!
Wedding flowers: Delicate blue sweetpeas, white ranunculus and white iris.
Tabletop items: Lenox Venetian Lace china, blue mercury glass vase, clear blue glass vase and large silver vase.
Table linens: Godiva lace overlay on top of French Blue Linen with Silver coordinating napkins.

4- Earthy Romance A natural basket with assorted wedding flowers gives an earthy undertone that softens an otherwise traditional wedding reception table setting!
Wedding flowers: Natural basket with white dendrobium orchids, pink tulips, pink hyacinth and moss accents.
Tabletop items: Vintage gold-rimmed chinaware with rose embellishments, vintage gold utensils.
Table linens: Songster Linen coupled with Dusty Rose coordinating napkins.
