Heidi & Clint- Winter Elegance with Rustic Flair

We first met with Heidi and Clint back in 2009, when they first got engaged and began their wedding planning!! Their families live in the area, but they are living in Massachusetts while Heidi attends law school... and they quickly realized that they needed professional assistance with finding vendors, researching venues and managing their budget- so they hired Remember This Day as their full-service wedding planner!!

I love that we were with them from the beginning- potential venue walk-throughs... florist meetings... favor ordering... budget making/monitoring... honeymoon planning... linen rental (from Remember This Day!)... decor and event design... invitation design meetings... photographer interviews and negotiations... limo contracting... and even cake tastings (ok, you really had to twist our arm for us to attend that one! mmmm!) The great thing about hiring a full-service planner is that we work with you from the start, and take your "vision" and make it a reality! We aren't just there to make sure that everything you planned is executed to perfection- we are the ones doing the research and helping to make decisions and contracting the vendors, so it's even more special when we see the final product and reveal the reception room to our couple!

Heidi and Clint wanted their December Wedding to have rich tones of burgundy and metallic gold accents with black in the background... lots of candlelight and greenery (think elegant "Christmas Carol" decor). Simple yet elegant... rustic yet classic.

The ceremony was held at Immaculate Conception Church, where we were lucky enough to still have the Poinsettias adorning the Church. The limo (Buker Limo) then took the bridal party to the reception which took place at one of our favorite local hotels, Hilton Christiana!!

The cocktail hour was held in the atrium lobby of the hotel, with a delicious spread of appetizers as well as a personal crab cake station!!! The couple had Signature Drinks (His: Manhattan; Hers: Winter Cosmopolitan)- which the guests loved... and champagne was flowing!

Dinner was served in their Christiana Ballroom... where the warm and rich ambiance continued with abundant candlelight, and Remember This Day provided the Waldorf linens on each guest table, with coordinating burgundy bengaline napkins... and the "Mickey Mouse" head tables (a homage to Heidi & Clint's love of Disney!) were draped in our Burgundy Satin linens with the Regal Vine Overlay, and coordinating dark gold bengaline napkins. The same linens were on the cake table and place card tables, as well. Each chair also had a black chair cover. Words can not express how dramatic of a difference linens can make in a Ballroom when trying to create a certain ambiance and really make your reception unique and elegant!

The centerpieces, which were tall cylinder vases with submerged orchids and a floating candle... as well as the gorgeous bouquets and bouts were created by the lovely Judy from Creations for Celebration!!

One of our favorite DJs, DJ Amaze, spinned records all night long (yes, he actually spins!!), and kept the dance floor packed!!!

The beautiful (and yummy!) cake was custom designed for the couple by Cannon's Bakery- and incorporated Heidi's love of "Hidden Mickeys" to perfection!!

It was so great building a friendship (both professionally and personally!) with Heidi and Clint! From the very first meeting back in 2009 to their late December 2011 wedding, we were with them the entire time. It was such an honor to be such a big part of their planning process and to see all of their "visions" come to fruition due to Remember This Day, and the couple's decision to hire a professional to make sure that their wedding dreams would become a reality!

Putting together a menu is super simple- finger foods and munchies are the way to go... with an assortment of options being key!! Here are a few classic options:

Quick Kick

Ingredients
- 1.5 parts Canadian whiskey
- 4 parts cola

Preparation
- Fill the collins glass half way with ice
- Pour the ingredients into the glass
- Stir together
- Garnish with lemon wedge

Brady Bomb
(Left middle image, shot glass)

Ingredients
- 1 part Bourbon whiskey
- 2 drops Tabasco sauce

Preparation
- Pour whiskey in a shot glass
- Add drops of Tabasco sauce into the center of the drink
- Bring it home

Patriot Pride

Ingredients
- 1.5 part tequila
- 0.5 part Blue Curacao
- 0.5 part cream
- 0.5 part white Creme de Cacao

Preparation
- Add ice cubes to the shaker
- Pour the ingredients into the shaker

- Strain into an old fashioned glass, on the rocks

Maria & Anthony- Elegant Italian Wedding in Philadelphia

I loved Maria and Anthony from the first time I met with them... and Maria's mom, too! At our initial consultation we really "clicked" and we were so excited to help them plan and coordinate their November nuptials all the way from their home in Chicago!

The ceremony was held at the gorgeous Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia... with reception following at one of our favorite venues- The Crystal Tea Room!!

Maria and Anthony chose an elegant color palette of ivory and burgundy... and the fabulous Carl Alan designed all of the floral arrangements and bouquets for their big day.

This wedding was full-fledged Italian themed... and I must admit, one of the most fun receptions we've worked on!! Huge thank you to the beat-dropping Chico's Vibe who kept everyone on their feet all night long and helped everyone work off some of those calories from the delicious food they had!!

We also had the opportunity to work with one of the most talented photographers in the area (and beyond!)... thanks to Kamila Harris Photography for sharing these beautiful images with us!!

Congratulations, once again, to Maria and Anthony- who we know had a spectacular honeymoon in ITALY!!!

Stephanie & Kenny- Vibrant October Wedding

Stephanie and Kenny were married this past October on a gorgeous fall day! Their wedding was perfect combination of elegant yet relaxed! Stephanie chose Eggplant as her main color (which was a super popular shade for many fall wedding color palettes- it allows for so many other complementary colors to mix in!), with vibrant shades of pinks, oranges, greens and purples for their bouquets and arrangements- thanks to Moles Flower Shop!

The afternoon ceremony was held at the beautiful Holy Saviour Church in Norristown, PA... and the reception followed at The Spring Mill Ballroom in Conshohocken, PA. Stephanie and Kenny's wedding is the perfect example of why having at least a "Day Of Coordinator" not only alleviates stress prior to and including the wedding day, but also is worth every single penny!! Rather than having their own family and friends (or paying the florist) help to decorate the Ballroom with their custom "DIY" centerpieces- my assistant and I assembled the gorgeous centerpieces right there and saved everyone else a lot of time and energy (and money!)... the Manzanita branches reached out from the vase and colorful paper lanterns hung from their limbs. It truly transformed the Ballroom and the lights gave the room such a fun ambiance!

I have to say, the caterers were beyond amazing... the food was top-notch and they were really great people to work with!! Olde Greenfield Inn Catering traveled all the way from Lancaster, PA for this special day, and made such yummy food, the guests raved about it all night long!

Sweet Talk Cakes created the fabulous cake, and Doctors of Music DJ kept the dance floor packed all night long! The invitations, programs and custom stationery was designed and created by the Bride herself (kudos Steph!) and the whole event was captured on video by LaPenna's Envisioned Video.

Your Ceremony: Church or Outside the Church?

So, you've got the ring... you've relaxed and basked in the glory of engagement... and now it's time to start the planning!! In addition to having a rough estimate of your guest list (small and intimate or large and inclusive?) and an idea of what type of budget you are working with, you will need to make some very important decisions!!

The biggest decision (in my opinion, at least) is where your actual ceremony will take place! As much fun as it is to plan the reception and all the exciting details, you will be marrying the person of your dreams and the ceremony is super important!!

First off, you need to sit down with your fiance and discuss your religious beliefs. Are you both Church-going people? If so, will you have the ceremony in a Church- his or hers? Are only one of you Church-going/religious? If so, is the other okay with having a Church ceremony? Or is the Church-goer open to having a ceremony outside of the Church? If neither of you are religious/Church-going, would you both prefer a ceremony outside of the Church? Or would you prefer to have a ceremony in one of your Churches because of family history and tradition?

These are all important decisions. The answer may come quickly or it may involve further discussion. For instance, if you decide to have a Church ceremony- will it be a Full Mass? Or just the ceremony portion? If you decide to have a ceremony outside of the Church, will it literally be outdoors? Or indoors at another location? If this is a Jewish celebration, will you have a Chuppah?

Once you decide the type of ceremony you and your fiance envision, you can immediately begin narrowing down your options!! You will either begin by contacting the Religious Director at the Religious Institution (Church, Temple, etc) you decide on and checking their availability... or you will begin to research other locations for your ceremony (an indoor location at your reception venue? Outside ceremony at your venue (but be sure they have a "backup" location in case of :::gasp::: bad weather!)? On the Beach? In a Park?) And don't forget to contact local ministers to perform your ceremony!! Be sure to get referrals from them and ask their former clients what they thought of their specific ceremony and the Presider.

If your mind isn't already racing with ideas and questions, don't worry- you can get started on the fun floral ideas for the ceremony, programs, ceremony layout, song and reading options and aisle runner ideas in a few months once you have all the "basics" booked!!

2nd Annual "Breakfast with Santa"

This past weekend Remember This Day teamed up once again with the lovely Erin Farrell for our 2nd Annual Breakfast with Santa celebration!! We helped to plan and organize the customer appreciation VIP event, and it was a huge success!

The breakfast with this super special guest (Santa, of course!) was held at Saint Andrew's Prep School in Middletown, Delaware. This was our first time at this location, and let me tell you- the grounds are AH-MAZING!! I could spend all day just walking around and admiring the beauty of both the school and its surroundings!

We created a delicious spread of bagels, pastries, cookies, fruit, yogurt and a plethora of yummy beverages! We set out crayons and Christmas-themed coloring sheets for the little ones, as well as Holiday books for them to read (or to be read), while waiting their turn to tell Mr. Claus what they'd like for Christmas this year.

As an extra special treat, we arranged a table display for the kiddos to make their very own "Reindeer Food" to put on their front yard (so Rudolph knows where to stop!). Remember This Day designed and created the signage for this table, as well.

Pam & Ryan: Vintage Garden Wedding (with a modern twist!)

I met Pam well over a year ago, when she first started planning her wedding! She hired us for extended partial planning- which included venue and vendor research- so we are VERY excited to share this unique and fun wedding with you, since we have been assisting with the event design and decor from the start!!

Dark eggplant and greenery hues were accented within the eclectic vintage garden feel at the absolutely gorgeous Greenville Country Club. The ceremony was held outside in the garden and was presided over by none other than Altared Vows by Taya, with musical accompaniment by Mello Strings. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a wonderful cocktail hour on the outdoor terrace and in the living room and atrium of the Club. Pam & Ryan had a signature cocktail and fun straws for their guests to use!

The tables were accented in Shell Bengaline linens with dark eggplant satin napkins on the guest tables, and Shell Bengaline linens underneath our Hyde Park Lace overlay and accented with the Shell Bengaline napkins... all provided by Remember This Day!!!

The foyer and reception area of the Club was adorned with the most exquisite wildflower arrangements that I have literally ever seen!! I was in awe of the vibrant colors and freshness that Love 'N Fresh Flowers created! They are a private, sustainably managed floral farm in Philadelphia- and these flowers were harvest by Jennie the day before the wedding!! She also provided the guests with potted succulent favors to bring home with them and enjoy for a long time!!

This wedding shows how you can infuse your own personalities into your wedding day! From the Mad Lib guestbook, vintage suitcase and rustic birdcage for cards- to Pam's purple shoes under her dress and their personalized wooden cake topper made to resemble the bride and groom (on top of a delicious cake by Liz Marden)! One thing this wedding definitely did not lack, are details!

Bethany from Gloss Salon did the girls' hair, and it stayed in place all night while they danced to mixes provided by No Macarena DJs!!

We also had the fantastic opportunity to refer Pam and Ryan to one of our all-time FAVORITE photographers- Photography by Laurie.... it's always a blast working with her!

Jeny & Joe: Rustic Vintage Wedding on Lake Michigan!

I have been looking forward to blogging about this wedding for over TWO years (since Jeny and Joe got engaged!) As many of you will recognize, Jeny is one of our coordination assistants here at Remember This Day, and has been with us since the beginning!! So when Joe popped the question, Jeny and I got to work on the planning!! We've been with her from the start and helped with the event design (read: antique shopping!), cohesive details, day of coordination and direction. I just love my full-service brides... seeing a wedding take form from the very beginning and then implementing everything and witness it all come together is the best part of being a planner!

This wedding is the epitome of Jeny's personality (and mine too, actually!) Lots of pearls, vintage and antique elements, lace, eclectic designs and just a fun and laid-back day!

Jeny grew up in Michigan and has family in nearby Indiana, so when choosing a venue for her upcoming nuptials, it was a fairly easy decision to have an outdoor reception on her family's property in on Lake Michigan after the Mass at Holy Trinity Church in South Bend, Indiana. Jeny's great-grandfather helped to BUILD this Church after immigrating from Hungary! So much history!

MANY thanks to the fabulous Amanda Mae Photography (located in Grand Rapids, Michigan) for capturing all these fun images! Also to Classic Catering for the delicious food and tent rental... and we can't forget Hair Crafters Salon for getting these already gorgeous girls all dolled up for the big day!

I love how we styled this shoot to show that even the little details make an impact on your event decor... whether it's the lonely bookcase in the corner of the room, or the foyer table in the entryway.... put your personal style into your decor.

Pops of color can really transform the room, and keep in mind the venue that you are holding your event! We predicted that metallics would be hot for 2011 weddings. Not to pat ourselves on the backs or anything, but... we were spot on with this particular wedding trends prediction! Metallics can be incorporated in a variety of ways, from your wedding dress and accessories to your invitations to your chic wedding reception centerpieces.

Mary Kate of Kate's Lens Photography shared this incredible wedding table trends editorial shoot focusing on using metallics to give spark to your wedding reception decor. So I hope you're ready, because we're about to shift this metallic wedding trend into overdrive!

Today we feature four drool-worthy metallic tablescapes and styles, and tomorrow, we'll feature four more inspiring setups to really get your creative juices flowing!

1- Gold & Bright Don’t be afraid to pair gold accents with a bright pop of color. The vivid purple and green wedding color palette update the vintage place setting with modern flair!

In honor of Father’s Day, we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all the wonderful dads out there who have been there for their children through thick and thin… holding you when you’re hurt, tossing a ball around with you on a warm sunny day, cooking burgers for you on the grill and always there for some comedic relief when needed!!

On Friday, October 14th the Delaware Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will host its annual nationwide Light The Night Walk at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington. The Delaware Chapter goal for 2011 is to draw over 2,000 participants and raise over $325,000! With support like yours, we know our event will be a magical one!

Light The Night Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. During this leisurely walk, walkers carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer - thousands of walkers form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer. Thousands of participants raise funds for lifesaving research and patient services and, on these special nights in Delaware, they carry illuminated balloons to show the support of a caring community.

LLS is a nonprofit organization that relies on the generosity of individual and corporate contributions to advance its mission.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Table Design Photo Shoot!

Last month Remember This Day had the wonderful opportunity to be the event designer/art director for a local photoshoot at the simply stunning Bellevue Hall Mansion, that has been submitted to some amazing wedding/event publications!! Not only was this a fun day with awesome vendors contributing their time, talent and services/products... but it also allowed us to showcase Remember This Day's ability to put together a cohesive tablescape design in just a week's notice!! Amazing what you can do by knowing the right vendors to call!

MUCH thanks to the fabulous Kate's Lens Photography who chose to include *US* as their event designer, and to Flowers by Mary Elizabeth for providing the beautiful floral arrangements!! Also, SAS Cupcakes donated their delicious and decadent cupcakes for our displays... and we coordinated linens with our favorite vendor, Gala!

These are just a few images (that we didn't submit for publication)... so keep your eyes posted in the coming months for a full showcase of Remember This Day's event design and art direction for this beautiful photoshoot, as well as being published in some prestigious magazines!

Here is a "Behind the Scenes" look at Remember This Day hard at work!!

We really wanted to incorporate modern elements alongside vintage pieces. Bellevue Hall is jam-packed with character, so with this table design we went with a French Blue floor length linen with a loose lace overlay that dropped to the floor, with coordinating French Blue napkins. We highlighted the metallic trends that are soooo hot this season with antique silverware and other silver pieces and a POP of color with the flowers!

One of my favorite setups of the day was this one- in the Parlor!! The pink walls went really well with this ivory, green and blush-colored floral linen with coordinating blush napkins. We accented the gold thread and embroidery in the linen with gold serving pieces. I just love this rustic floral arrangement, too!

This next setup I love... goes to show you how elegant (and inexpensive, actually!) a tall centerpiece full of simple baby's breath!! We also incorporated some of our own rental pieces into this design, as well as our stationery (table number, in this instance).

The wood paneling in the Bellevue's "Library" room is just amazing. I wanted to show a bit of an "Old World" feel in this design because of all the dark wood and ornate mirrors!

And last but definitely not least... is my assistant Art Director for the day... my son!! :-) He was quite helpful!!

I am so excited to be able to share these few "behind the scenes" images... and trust me, you WILL want to see the rest of them once we're able to share them with you!!! I'm just over the moon about how perfect everything came out!! Stay tuned....

Giraffe-Themed First Birthday Party!!

It is with great pride that I share with you quite possibly the most fabulous birthday party ever!! This past March, Remember This Day planned and coordinated a giraffe-themed 1st birthday party for none other than my son! This was definitely a "labor of love" as I put many hours into the research of supplies, creating of decor and event design...

I try not to blog about my own personal parties, because what I do as a planner/coordinator is in regards to my clients' events rather than my own- but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to share this with you!!

Remember: Remember This Day can help *YOU* plan and coordinate your little one's birthday party, baptism, baby showers, graduation parties and more!! It is soooo nice to be able to relax and enjoy your family's special moments rather than running around getting food on the table, refilling ice trays, ordering supplies and food, setting up the decor and successfully implementing a cohesive theme (and yes, your guests will notice the details!!)

We made the custom linens and most of the stationery (some was purchased from an Etsy seller, as well), the color-coordinating tissue paper poms hung from the ceiling in the main rooms, custom favor tags adorned the orange candy-filled silk organza bags, custom water bottle labels, and "Happy First Birthday" confetti dressed the dessert table along with the smash cake, giraffe shaped cake and cupcakes, which were all courtesy of Carina's sister-in-law (who should totally start her own business!!).

We were lucky enough to have the entirely fabulous and rockstar of a photographer Photography by Laurie come for a few hours to capture all of the details and special moments of this extraordinary First Birthday Party!

I highly recommend hiring a professional photographer for family parties... I know it sounds like an unnecessary expense (can't cousin Joey take pictures instead??), but these pictures will last a lifetime, look GORGEOUS on your mantle or hanging on your wall.... and you won't have to lift a finger to snap any pictures- yet have the best photos to look at afterwards!

Sunday Spotlight: Unique Cardholders

We've all heard of the "traditional" card holders at weddings or special events... sometimes with a bow that matches the color scheme of the party... it gets the job done, but often takes a back seat during the planning process and doesn't get the attention to detail that it deserves!!! So many times I have seen guests "ohh" and "ahh" over totally unique and different card holder options and it can really be a conversation starter if the holder follows a sort of ambiance of your special day, or involves your personalities!

After a brief "hiatus" due to the Holiday season, we're happy to announce that we're back in the swing of things and ready for another "Sunday Spotlight"!!! This year, we will be focusing on bringing our blog readers/clients/prospective clients/colleagues the latest info on local vendors as well as design ideas, color schemes, trends and more! How long have you been in the photography business?
We started our business in 1999, back in the film days. It has been an amazing journey and one of much evolvement.

And what training do you have?:/ why did you choose to pursue photography?
Neville grew up with a keen interest in photography that he enjoyed as a hobby. When we were married and he moved down here from Canada, he began an apprenticeship with a local wedding and portrait photographer (approx. 1996) to learn more and see if he wanted to do something more with this interest of his. He loved every minute of his time with his mentor and was soon doing second shooting for the studio as well as shooting as a contract photographer with another company. As more friends learned of Neville's interest, more requests came in to photograph family and friend weddings. In 1999 Stringer Photography was established and Neville "tossed" a camera to me and said I had to come along for this journey. Neville brought with him the technical knowledge while I (without any technical knowledge at that point) had the eye for creativity and emotional connections. With the switch from film to digital that we made approx. in 2004, a new world opened up for me. By 2006, I had fully invested myself into the business and have constantly sought out workshops and conference to increase my skills and confidence. Now combining the creative with the technical, this artform has become my passion and I work for the business full time, while Neville continues his career in healthcare. We always shoot together for weddings while I'm stretching my wings (mostly on my own) with the portrait side of the business. It is interesting that I never imagined this would be the line of work I would be in (I have a bachelor’s in Social Work and worked in health care for 8 ½ plus years). However, my father was the Media Director in our school district in Connecticut and have fond memories of going to the dark room with him and watching him video and photograph many school events. I think he was just tickled when Neville and I started this business together.

What kind of services do you provide? (just weddings, portrait, engagement, photobooth, etc):

Wedding, engagement, beloved (a special session for married couples), portrait (I have a special affinity for children). We had an image garden designed and installed in our back yard in 2009 specifically for our portrait work.

What is the price range for your packages?:
We start at $3500 for our wedding collections

What sets you apart from other photographers?:
I don’t know if this sets us apart as we have met some pretty fabulous colleagues out there. We do have a love of people and people watching so we are fascinated by the connections that surround us. We are also easily amused so it doesn’t take much to get us laughing. Our healthcare backgrounds certainly have proven helpful in our approach and understanding of people. Overall, we are just warm and caring and absolutely love working together. So being a married couple is a big plus for us.
What was your favorite event that you photographed, and why?: Tough questions! I can’t just put it to one but it would have to be any event that made me cry. I’m a crier, I’m trying to accept that fact!

Do you offer any discounts or specials? (ie- Fridays/Sundays or winter months?):
Yes, a 10% discount for Friday weddings in September to mid June OR 10% for January –March weddings.

What is your favorite venue to photograph at?:
Too many to choose from! We are so fortunate to live in this area with a huge selection of venues. I’m still amazed that we are photographing in places that are new to us, after 12 years of weddings. I must say, we do really enjoy the historic mansions or places that have interesting architecture that we can incorporate into our images.

Breakfast with Santa!!!

When Erin Farrell Photography contacted us with a fun "customer appreciation" idea for the Holiday season, we got super excited!! The planning began immediately, and it turned out better than we could have imagined....

On Sunday, December 12th, Remember This Day co-hosted (and of course, planned/organized) an exclusive V.I.P. for our clients, along with the extremely talented Erin Farrell Photography, and her clients!!

The unique and historic Belmont Hall in Smyrna, Delaware served as a fabulous location for Santa to come visit the little ones! We decorated the house with lots of Christmas cheer... and created festive centerpieces using baskets that we filled with pinecones (fresh from our backyard!), a combination of gold, red and green ball ornaments, pointsettas, and some candy canes for good measure!

We created a yummy spread of bagels, cream cheese, assorted fruit and muffins, munchkins, juices, coffee and milk. Everything you could want on a cold winter morning! And to keep the little ones occupied before the "Big Guy" arrived, we set up an activity table with coloring books, crayons, and foam activity picture frames for them to design themselves.... it was a big hit!

The kiddos loved Santa (except for a few that reminded us of the "Christmas Story" scene with Santa HAHA), but that just allowed for even cuter pictures....

We had SOOO much fun and were so happy to treat our treasured clients (past, present and future) to a fun-filled morning with their families, and the Jolly Red Elf. Can't wait to start planning next year's "Breakfast with Santa!!!"

I was engaged in 2001 and went looking for a wedding photographer. I was so amazed at the type of work wedding photographers were doing that I hired the studio on the spot and asked them for a job shortly after. I worked for them for a year before I set out on my own.

How long have you been in the photography business? And what training do you have?:

I have been shooting weddings for over five years now. I have two degrees in communications and professional photography from Cecil College, as well as a certificate in Basic Photography, Studio Photography, Video Production, and Digital Imaging.

Why did you choose to pursue photography?:

It actually wasn't until I was 23 that I even realized that I had an eye for photography. I was raised in a very creative and artistic family with a father that's a wood worker, a mother that was a photographer, a sister that's a writer, and another sister that is a painter. So my pictures just looked like the rest of my family's pictures and I thought that was normal! It wasn't until I took some black and white film shots of a friend's wedding that I learned that I had a talent for photography. She hired a $5000 photographer that, unfortunately, botched her wedding day with less than impressive images. I offered her my images and she was in love. Through tears, she told me just how much it meant to receive these beautiful images of her wedding day. It was then that I learned that this is something I wanted to pursue and master. I'm far from mastering it, I'm not sure I ever will with the ever evolving technology, but I'm having a blast trying!

What kind of services do you provide? (just weddings, portrait, engagement, photobooth, etc):

I offer almost every kind of photography services out there. Weddings, portraiture, special event photography, fine art photography, and product photography.

What is the price range for your packages?:

My wedding package price ranges from $1250 to $2850 with options to add more. I am flexible with my packages and can offer even the smallest budget options. I believe that everyone deserves a professional photographer on their wedding day, even if it's just to capture some portraits!

What sets you apart from other photographers?:

I love making new friends! I truly love people. I believe that to truly capture a person's character, emotion, or state of being, you have to love them. Truly appreciate what makes them... them! Without that appreciation, there is little depth to the photograph. I am in love with my subjects, and my subjects are flawless. Even the ones with wrinkles and bruised petals.

What was your favorite event that you photographed, and why?:

It is really hard to choose just one event as my favorite. There are so many different things that go into shooting a wedding. And every wedding has provided me with my favorite moments! But if I had to choose one, I would have to say that it was Emily and Gary's wedding. Gary was heading out to Afghanistan two weeks after they were to be married. I believe they were going to wait to be married, until he got his orders that changed their plans a little. So they had a very small and intimate ceremony in a hundred year old chapel in the middle of the woods. This chapel is, simply put, one of the most beautiful structures I have ever seen. And it only fit 20 people inside of it. Just enough space for the people they loved most in this world. And I had the pleasure of being there for that. I got to witness two people pledging their lives to each other, as uncertain as their lives were with Gary leaving for war. And I got to shoot it! I got to capture this moment for them so that they could have something of each other to physically hold onto while they are apart. That is why I love photography. That is why I shoot!

Do you offer any discounts or specials? (ie- Fridays/Sundays or winter months?):

There are different reasons for different discounts. If I have found that I still have quite a few weekends free for the next season, I will offer percentage discounts for last minute wedding clients that might not have booked a photographer for whatever reason.

What is your favorite venue to photograph at?:

There isn't a specific venue that I am more fond of then others. All I need, as a photographer, is light. Any amount will do. :)

Deanna & Mark

Let me start this entry by saying that I absolutely LOVE Deanna and her mom!! We had so much fun getting to know one another, and I knew from the first time that we met eachother, that this wedding was going to be one for the books!! And let me say, that this bridal party was probably one of the most fashionable groups that I've seen! I wanted to steal every high heel the girls wore at the Rehearsal!! They are like a walking "Sex and the City" episode haha.

Deanna and Mark were high school sweethearts... she asked him to Prom... and continued their romance through college. Once she said that- I couldn't believe my ears!! That is exactly how everything happened with my husband and myself!!! Deanna and I had so much in common that our meetings consisted with just as much chitchat as it did "getting down to wedding business" haha.

Deanna and Mark chose an "a la carte" package for their wedding. We were able to customize a package exactly to suit their needs!

The ceremony was held at St. Rita's of Cascia in Philadelphia, with the reception following at the ever fabulous Cescaphe Ballroom!! The girls wore absolutely stunning floor-length black dresses with crystal embellishments, and a wonderful combination of orange, purple and red flowers!

I was once again fortunate enough to work with Erin Farrell Photography, who is simply AH-MAZING!!! Thanks, Erin, for these beautiful pictures!

Jaclyn & Jimmy

Jaclyn and Jimmy were married last February during the BIGGEST snowstorm that the tri-state area had seen in quite a few years!!

We worked with Jaclyn for many months, perfecting her menu cards and stationery for her winter wedding!! While Remember This Day focuses on providing our clients with wedding and event planning/coordination, we are also more than happy to work on paper products for you, as well! Granted, we do not advertise these services often (because of how much time and effort we put into each design, and we want to focus on our weekly weddings!)- but we are more than happy (and eager) to work with you on your personal touches, should our schedule allow!!

Jaclyn and Jimmy definitely took advantage of the "off-season" for weddings, by contacting us to design and print their personal details for them! We sent many drafts back and forth until we got it perfect.... which I think we accomplished!

We focused on an on-going presence of Calla Lillies throughout their wedding, accented with a Royal Blue and Silver color scheme and we printed them on pearlized champagne cardstock (PERFECT for a winter wedding!)

Kasey & Felix

Kasey and Felix were married on a beautiful August afternoon at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, with their fun and laid-back reception following at the wonderful Executive Banquets!! Shades of pool and pink draped the tables and bouquets, and were a fabulous choice for a warm summer wedding!

DJ Amaze was just that- A-MAZ-ING!!! I have never had such a tough time staying off the dance floor! haha. He seriously kept the dance floor rockin'.... so much so that he had one of the nuns from the Church breaking it down on the dance floor!!! It was awesome.

Martin's Video was once again there to capture everything of film... love them!! And Picture This Photobooth provided the guests with a fun option during the reception.... allowing them to take fun pictures and keep one set, while the other was placed in a guestbook and signed for Kasey and Felix to keep!!

Flowers by Yukie took care of the bouquets and personal flowers as well as the ceremony florals, while Elana's Broad Street Florist created the reception's centerpieces!

Dave's Limo made sure the bridal party got to the Church on time..... and Perry Anthony Salon made sure they looked fantabulous all day long!!

We had so much fun at this wedding.... and a HUGE thanks to the phenomonal Mary Kate from Kate's Lens Photography, who got some fantastic pictures!!

Liz and Chris had a beautiful winter wedding last January! "Off-season" weddings are becoming even more popular lately, and present an elegant and cozy backdrop for such a special event....

The ceremony and reception were held at The Emmanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, Delaware.

Being that the Groom works on films and lighting, etc on a daily basis, there was no doubt that this Church Hall was going to be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with candlelight and tables adorned in ivory and plum shades.... this was really a team effort!

The chairs, tables, serving ware, dance floor, etc were all rented by the fabulous Diamond State Party Rentals. DJ Caleb Guertin kept the dance floor rockin'... while Andy Buckmaster caught it all on video!! Sweets to You by Ginger created the gorgeous cake.

This absolutely unique wedding was all tied together with the Catering done by Nirvana Fine Indian Restaurant, which provided an interesting and conversation-starting cuisine that showcased the couple's favorite foods!

Alicia and Brenton!

I can honestly say that this is the first wedding that I've coordinated that the BRIDE was literally a rocket scientist (for NASA!).... and those weren't the only sparks flying at this quaint and rustic fall wedding!

Alicia contacted us because she was planning all the way from Houston, where she and Brenton live... and she needed some expert help in pulling everything together! Jeny, one of RTD's assistants, and I even stayed at the hotel prior to their wedding, to make sure we were there in case we were needed.

The ceremony was originally supposed to take place outside, but Mother Nature had other plans for us... which turned out even better than we imagined!! The ceremony and reception took place at The Merion Tribute House (SUCH a pretty and interesting venue!) This ceremony was so unique and special.... it was a self-uniting ceremony, which is a Quaker tradition (and the marriage license/certificate was beyond exquisite!!!)

Williamson Caterers provided not only the yummy food, but also the linens and rentals! Rick was a delight to work with.... and the rustic and simple, yet classic florals were created by Robertson's Flowers. We also assembled Alicia and Brenton's centerpieces which had a water element along with rocks and floating candles set atop a mirror base!

The dance floor was rocking all night long thanks to Tom Barrett DJs.... and we were SOOOO excited to work yet again with Sarah Schulte Photography, and her hubby was the second shooter! Sarah is such a wonderful person and photographer- we love working with her!

Congratulations, Alicia & Brenton!!! Hope you're enjoying Texas!

Stacey and Dave had a beautiful fall day for their October wedding!! There wasn't even a cloud in the sky........

St. Stephen's Lutheran Church was the backdrop for their touching vows. Especially being that the Father of the Groom presided!!! The reception followed at one of my favorite local venues, the Christiana Hilton, where Stacey and Dave's guests danced the night away!!

This wedding is a perfect example of a classic, traditional wedding that had a "twist." The black, white and red color palette really added a sophisticated touch. Such unique aspects included mini signature martinis in special glasses with charms handmade by Stacey herself!! And our favorite unique element to this wedding was the signature dove release outside of the Church!! Dawn at Thompson Bird Farm coordinated the release, and it was absolutely breath-taking!! It was even featured in Delaware Bride Magazine's "Aisle Style"!!!

Buker Limo got everyone to the Church (and reception) on time.... and Clair Pruett provided these LOVELY pictures (and also caught it all on film!) Not to mention, the unique duo of Best of Both Worlds Entertainment, which not only DJ'ed the event, but also provided live music, too!

Celebrations Design Group created the beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets....

Stacy and Marco had a gorgeous wedding in early October... the ceremony was held at St. Mary's in Bordentown, with their reception at Mancini Caterers in Philadelphia.

Stacy and Marco's color palette of pink and chocolate was complimented with a slight polka dot accent. Calla Lillies were also incorporated throughout their centerpieces and invitations. Remember This Day also created their table numbers and ceremony programs!! These unique touches were definitely noticed by their guests, too!

Candid Moments did a fabulous job capturing all of the events of the day (had a blast with you, Doug!!), and Martin's Video got it all on film! And we can't forget Casablanca Florist who did a beautiful job with the flowers!

Hey everyone!! As you can tell, we are in the process of updating and editing our webpage and blog! I know that by switching to this blog entry setup, I will be able to update more often and keep you all up to speed with all of our exciting events!!!

Our new webpage should launch in Spring 2011.... so keep your eyes open for that!!

Mary Kay & Luke

Mary Kay and Luke were married on a gorgeous September day at http://www.stjohnmanayunk.org/, with the modern and glamorous reception following at the ever fabulous and unique Phoenixville Foundry (http://www.phoenixvillefoundry.com/weddings.php). Mary Kay and Luke chose a teal blue with dark pink/purple and chartreuse accents.... and cymbidium orchids to tie everything together!!

If there was ever a picture perfect couple, Mary Kay and Luke are it!! I swear, they should model for wedding magazines!!!!

Mark from Synergetic Sounds (http://www.synergeticsounds.com/) kept the dance floor packed, and also provided the up-lighting and Gobo monogram for the dance floor! Martin's Video was also there to film the entire day for this gorgeous couple! (http://web.mac.com/accentweddingvideos/)... and Robert Ryan Caterers (http://www.weddingcaterer.com/) provided the delightful dinner!

We were especially excited to work with Jessa Sommerfield from Sommerfield Designs (http://sommerfielddesigns.com/), who perfectly captured the modern elegance and glamour that Mary Kay and Luke envisioned with all of the fabulous centerpieces and bouquets!

Lori & Kyle

How do I even start?! Lori was referred to Remember This Day by a former bride whose wedding was the previous month. As soon as Lori and I met- we knew we would be a great match!! She's so spunky and fun and really has an eye for detail... which was perfect! She and Kyle just needed someone to execute their wedding vision, and guide them a bit throughout the way! Needless to say, it was one of my favorite weddings, and we were so honored to be a part of it!

After getting everyone ready at the Philadelphia Downtown Courtyard by Marriott, their special day began at the exquisite The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul... such a perfect Church and backdrop for sharing their vows! Also, quite a tourist spot... so my assistant and I made sure that no one walked in and interrupted the ceremony once it began! :-)

After the ceremony ended, the black-tie optional reception began at the ever-unique Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia. The royal blue with yellow and orange accents completed the look of the evening, with a fun atmosphere that included many wine-themed accents, a tequila toast, trolley ride, candy buffet, double-dutch rope jumping, cigar bar and a very special "Single Ladies" choreographed dance by Lori and her bridesmaids! There were so many unique elements in this wedding- and the guests truly loved them all!!

The spectacular EBE Rio rocked ALL night long... and was truly a talent!! I don't know if I've ever seen so many people dancing at one time!

We had the pleasure of working with Martin's Video, once again...

Geoffrey from Leapfrog Photo took these absolutely breath-taking photographs... his photography skills amaze me every time I look at these pictures!! They're simply beautiful! Hence, why there are such an abundance of pictures in this blog- I just couldn't decide!! Definitely look into hiring Leapfrog for your upcoming wedding- Geoffrey rocks...

The after-party continued at Lucky Strikes, where Remember This Day set up all of Lori and Kyle's fun "props" and accessories for their guests to enjoy! Such a unique idea... love it!!

Congratulations once again, Lori and Kyle!!! I'm still jealous about your fabulous honeymoon!!
