Annie & Erik: Shabby Chic Beach Wedding Overlooking San Diego's Sunset Cliffs!!

Excited doesn't even begin to explain my feelings in featuring this wedding on our blog!!  We met Annie and Erik while coordinating another destination wedding on Lake Michigan last summer... and after seeing us in action, they decided to hire us for their San Diego wedding on a Private Estate overlooking the fabulous Sunset Cliffs!!!

The gorgeous setting was ambiance enough, but we assisted the couple in adding touches of their personalities and tastes into the decor with custom stationery for their unique guest book (a coffee table book with photography of California beaches), "Reserved" table tents for family members, Signs for the freshly-squeezed Lemonade for their guests to enjoy while enjoying the view and waiting for the ceremony to begin!!  Their custom package also included research and event design/implementation- which resulted in burlap signs for their bar, custom sand-unity bottles and basket, custom cake-cutting set, a starfish "circle" for the couple to join in their vows... and much more!  The details really made this wedding unique and cohesive!

We were in San Diego for Annie & Erik's "Wedding Weekend" and also coordinated their Rehearsal, which happened to have been on the ONE day of the year that there was a torrential downpour/storm in San Diego- go figure!!  But this couple was so laid-back and accepted any changes that needed to be made with smiles on their face!  We always tell our clients that while we plan for beautiful weather, it's the one thing that is completely out of our control.... luckily, the rain stopped and the Sun even came out during their Ceremony the following day!!

Onto the details....

Annie & Erik wanted their intimate wedding to be eco-friendly and shabby-chic beach vintage... their flowers were fresh and colorful with peacock feather accents, and their centerpieces were baskets of assorted succulents (which complemented the wildflowers and succulents in the field they walked through as their "aisle."  Kenner and Sons Florist did a wonderful job executing Annie's vision of her floral decor!

As the guests arrived, poured their freshly-squeezed Lemonade and found their seats overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Acoustic Guitarist Mark Fisher of The Fish and the Seaweeds provided music to set the relaxed mood.  Their beautiful ceremony was presided over by Rev. Josh Kerkhoff from Solana Beach Presbyterian Church (who was one of the best ministers that I have worked with!)

Following the ceremony, the guests were ushered across the street to the Estate's front porch to  watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean during cocktail hour, and then they proceeded to the back yard where we had custom tent rentals and club-lounge furniture overlooking the backlit pool!  Annie & Erik provided their guests with a wide variety of delicious and sustainable food options (such as hand-rolled sushi station, custom taco station, asian noodles, and much more) provided by Terra Catering.

The couple put together a custom iPod playlist to be played on the Estate's speaker system... they just needed an Emcee to "man" the station and make formal announcements- which is yet one more "hat" that Remember This Day can say we have "worn"!!!!

And to top off the amazing list of vendors that we were lucky enough to have had the opportunity to work with- Jaworski Photography captured everything on camera and photographed some of the most amazing and beautiful images I have EVER seen- hence the major abundance of pictures below!!!!  (Check out those Sunset shots!!!!  Amazeballs!)

We had so much fun helping Annie & Erik plan and coordinate their San Diego wedding- and we plan on coordinating even more "destination" weddings in the future!

And some pictures we took on our own:

Congratulations once again... to one of our FAVE newlywed couples!!  We wish you all the happiness in the world....

And remember.... Remember This Day is available to travel to YOUR destination or out-of-town location, as well!
